Art Lessons for Children Series (21 Lessons)
Donna Hugh, throughout her long career in elementary education, has motivated and encouraged countless students to learn the joy of creating art. Serving as an art consultant to various schools, she has been instrumental in saving art programs that might otherwise have been cancelled. In addition, by giving a continuing series of art instruction workshops to teachers and parents, she has fostered their ability to teach art to children. This series is based on the belief that all children have natural creative talents waiting for expression. There are three to four lessons on each title. In each lesson, the artist/teacher shows step-by-step how to create beautiful and individual art. DVD format available for all volumes. VHS formats available for Vol 2, Vol 3, Vol 4, Vol 6.
Drawing Lessons for Beginners Series (14 Lessons)
With Drawing Lessons for Beginners Donna Hugh has given the aspiring artist an enormously helpful and motivating series, which supplements her lessons in the Art Lessons for Children series. In these four Drawing Lessons for Beginners volumes, she demonstrates a wide range of drawing techniques and uses a variety of drawing instruments. Throughout her long career in elementary education, Donna has emphasized both the importance and the joy of creating art. We produced this series by request from many users of our “Art Lessons For Children” series. The series was developed for use by both children and adults to learn to draw simple shapes, nature, people and animals. One of our most popular! DVD format available for all volumes. VHS formats available for Vol 2, Vol 3, Vol 4.
Collage Art for Kids Series (11 Lessons)
In Collage Art for Kids, as in her earlier highly acclaimed series Art Lessons for Children and Drawing Lessons for Beginners, Donna demonstrates a wide range of techniques, using readily available materials. As a nurturing and motivating teacher, she emphasizes that art builds self-esteem and gives a wonderful feeling of accomplishment. This series was designed again by Donna Hugh to give the aspiring artist instruction in how to select and position various materials and objects in order to create pleasing, original collage compositions. All volumes contain step-by-step lessons. DVD format.
Animal Safari Series (36 Lessons)
Karla Majewski, wildlife instructor, is series host. She is described by the reviewer in School Library Journal as “enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and at ease with both children and animals.” The animals she introduces in the programs are inhabitants of her private zoo and have come to her because they were neglected or abused or could not survive in the wild. Through Karla they have happily become “creature teachers” in her wildlife programs. The review in Booklist praises Karla as a host who “easily answers questions and asks for feedback from her young audience.” This series was designed to acquaint young people with the characteristics, behaviors, and habitats of many diverse animals. In most of the programs, members of the audience are invited to touch, hold, and gently interact with the animals. Recommended by Booklist “for young animal enthusiasts and classroom audiences,” the series emphasizes respect for the animals and their habitats. Children interact with animals of all kinds from around the globe, while learning about each one. DVD and VHS formats available.
English Tutor Series (24 Lesson)
English grammar is a fearful subject to most students, young or old, who need to review the fundamentals of English; and it’s a subject often not in the least bit interesting to them. So…what better way to allay their apprehension and engage their attention than to tell stories that involve the study of grammar. DVD and VHS formats available.
