Description

Lessons and Materials

Karla Majewski introduces her young audience to various reptiles, such as turtles and tortoises, that live in her private zoo. Closely observing Petey, a bearded dragon lizard, the children learn where these animals live, what they eat, and how they survive. Alligators are represented by young Al E. Gator, adopted by Karla after he had been left to fend for himself in California, far from his native Florida habitat. Children hold Big Red, an albino Burmese python, one of two snakes that Karla’s audience finds fascinating.
