Description

Lessons and Materials

With the help of her “barnyard teachers,” wildlife instructor, Karla Majewski, instructs children about the characteristics and behavior of various farm animals. The children see, touch, and hold bunnies, chicks, and ducklings, learning how special these “spring babies” are and how important they are to our lives. Observing the day’s activities from his nearby corral is Peanut, a miniature horse, who lives with Karla and her family on their combined farm and home zoo. Also present to delight their young audience are Casper, a six-week-old baby goat, and Whopper, a one-year-old Vietnamese pot-bellied pig.
