Titles In This Four Volume Series
In Collage Art for Kids, as in her earlier highly acclaimed series Art Lessons for Children and Drawing Lessons for Beginners, Donna demonstrates a wide range of techniques, using readily available materials. As a nurturing and motivating teacher, she emphasizes that art builds self-esteem and gives a wonderful feeling of accomplishment.
Today I sat down with my children and watched Collage Art for Kids with Donna Hugh. Donna is very gifted at putting together colors and textures, and she goes at a pace that makes it easy to follow along.
Donna opened a new world of art to my family. We had a great time following along with Donna and making art with things we had lying around our house. I love that the video instructions are very hands-on and you’re able to work at your own pace alongside the instructor.
The video is broken into segments, taking you from creating a cut-paper collage to a torn-paper collage to a tissue-paper collage. Each section is 15 minutes long. My children — ranging in age from 5-13 — each enjoyed the hands-on fun of doing the collage. With our busy schedule, art has been a rare pleasure. Thanks to the quick, 15-minute segments on Collage Art for Kids, it’s now easy to add art to our daily school routine.
